How It Works?
1. Precision Measurement & Custom Fabrication
No two window openings are exactly alike. Our process begins with a detailed site survey where we measure your existing openings to the nearest 1/8th of an inch. Your windows are then custom-ordered to these exact specifications to ensure a tight, structural fit that prevents air and water infiltration.
2. Site Preparation & Protection
We treat your home with the utmost respect. Before work begins, our team:
-
Uses drop cloths and plastic sheeting to protect your flooring and furniture.
-
Carefully removes existing window sashes and frames.
-
Inspects the underlying buck (the wood or concrete frame) for rot or damage, repairing it as necessary to ensure a solid foundation.
3. Structural Fitting & Anchoring
Impact windows are significantly heavier than standard windows. We use heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant masonry anchors or wood screws, spaced according to strict engineering requirements.
-
Leveling: We use precision shims to ensure the window is perfectly plumb and level.
-
Sealing: A high-grade primary sealant is applied to the frame before it is set to create a primary water barrier.
4. Weatherproofing & Insulation
Once the window is anchored, we focus on the "envelope seal." We apply expandable closed-cell foam insulation around the perimeter to eliminate drafts and improve thermal performance. Finally, we apply a professional-grade exterior perimeter bead of polyurethane sealant to provide a long-lasting, watertight finish.
5. Final Inspection & Clean-Up
We don't leave until the job is perfect. Our final phase includes:
-
Functional Testing: Ensuring all locks and sashes operate smoothly.
-
Debris Removal: Hauling away your old windows and cleaning the work area.
-
Certification: Providing you with the necessary documentation for insurance credits and local building inspections.
